Hey yo! This is just a digital flyer to say I’m January’s featured poet at BohoZone in Lancaster, and I’ll be having a reading and open-mic session there tonight.

The floor opens up at 7 pm and usually lasts about an hour. Depending on the number of readers for the open mic yours truly will probably be on for 15 or so minutes.
Can I tell you a secret? I’d rather it be less time, or we go longer because there are so many people eager to read for the open-mic. It’s always inspiring for me to hear other people’s work and see that other people are writing too.
What I’m saying is if you have something to read and you’re on the fence about coming out, please do!
Last month Dogstar Books’ Jeff Rath was BohoZone’s featured poet of December, and he mentioned at his Fear No Lit event last week that he was hoping to be in the crowd.
So again, that’s BohoZone, 7pm, you, me, and poetry (and hopefully some other people or we might have awkward eye contact the whole time).

Update: The reading was a cozy, maybe 10 person affair, but it definitely helped me to realize I had way less of what I thought was ‘good poetry’ to read and I definitely need to keep producing before the next time I step up to feature.
One bystander took the time to post this:

and I felt like it’s a pretty thematic sentiment for everyone that was involved. But being out of your element is good, and I’m happy with everyone that I got to share this experience with.

Thank you so much for the kind words, Christian. Looking forward to helping host you tonight.
