Currently I’m on a handmade sticker kick. Ever since I’ve seen so many cool little stickers on Etsy shops (Shout-out rad-doodads!) I just keep having more and more ideas for stickers that I want to exist.
Right now they’re rough, not only because I’m printing them on shipping labels and sticking to pretty much 100% black and white, but because I need to put some serious time into my drawing.
(No shame, I spent a good portion of my life believing I couldn’t really draw. But I’ve started trying, and I like it, and the internet has an avenue for so many different levels of talent it ends up being a no-brainer.)
Here are some preliminary sketches I tweeted early on (peep that healthy signature):
Since then I’ve made a few simple stickers with some success. I need to work on cleaning up the scans in photoshop, but I’m happy with what I’m able to do with essentially some pens, a scanner, inkjet printer, and shipping labels. The ideas are still coming, but the drawing is still playing catch-up.
So that’s what I’m up to on top of the poetry, and fiction, and submitting work, and playing my PS4, and covering footy, and beating on my guitar.
Let me know if you’re interested in any finished stickers and I might just pony-express you some!
